Lufthansa's Basic Round the World Airfare
Lufthansa has long held the title of the cheapest round the world airfare. It is marketed as a lead in fare with some level of flexibility in terms of the route you can take. Lufthansa are starting to introduce in-seat entertainment from April 2009 beginning on their Singapore – Munich leg. Availability can be tough and often 3-6 months notice is needed to book.
How to Book the Lufthansa Round the World Airfare:
Step 1) Pick Your Route from the below continent and city options.
Step 2) Fill in an enquiry form with your desired order of cities. Please note only internal travel in Europe can be included on this airfare. 1 flight to and 1 flight from Frankfurt/Munich is included (additional taxes apply).

Pros & Cons:
Pros: Cheapest year round fare on the market. Multiple stopovers in Asia. European side trip can be used into one city and out of another. Can now use Qantas to/from the North America as well as to/from Asia. More seats available than previously. You can now include own arrangements between the the West and East Coast of North America and new routes are available to South American destinations.
Cons: Africa & South America on one ticket require a surcharge payment, inquire for a custom quote. Availability limited if needing to change dates. Must be paid in full within 21 days of booking or sooner depending on airline cancellation deadlines and your departure date. Except from Sydney and Melbourne additional domestic airfares are needed to get to/from Sydney and Melbourne when going to or coming from North America. Sidetrips will add additional costs, London/UK is relatively expensive.

Surcharges may apply depending on your desired route and availability.
