Features of the OneWorld 4 Continent Round the World:

• Minimum 3 stopovers.
• Maximum 16 segments including flights and when you make your own way between 2 cities.
• Continent restricted. Travel to 4 continents including Australia/South West Pacific (SWP).
• Within each continent receive up to 4 flights per continent and 6 flights within North America.
• Quality airlines.
• Must cross both Atlantic and Pacific oceans and return to same continent.

Route Options:

Australia/SWP - Asia - Europe - North America - Australia/SWP or vice versa.

Australia/SWP - Asia - Europe - South America - Australia/SWP or vice versa.

Australia/SWP - Africa - Europe - North America - Australia/SWP or vice versa.

Australia/SWP - Africa - Europe - South America - Australia/SWP or vice versa.

Due to no OneWorld carriers based in Africa from Africa - North/South America you must travel via Europe, generally London.

Pros:

• Up to 16 flights/segments, great value can be achieved with this round the world fare.
• For itineraries that need significant internal flights this airfare can be great value.
• Receive Qantas (or utlilise any other OneWorld airline frequent flyer program) frequent flyer points and status credits on the entire ticket.
• Great if you need internal travel in North Asia, Western Europe ex-London/Madrid, Northern Europe via Helsinki, Eastern Europe via Budapest, the Middle East via Amman and across the USA particularly via New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and Miami.
• 2 pieces of luggage at 30kg for the entire trip due to piece system when flying via North America.
• Direct Sydney - Buenos Aires flight using Qantas a plus.
• Domestic travel in Australia included if you need to get to Sydney etc to take an international flight. Domestic flights count as part of the 4 flights allocated to Aus/SWP.
• Vancouver - New York flight using Cathay Pacific and Vancouver - Mexico using Japan Airlines are interesting segments which can be used on round the world tickets.
• The most popular ticket for travel to/from South America due to Qantas and LAN being the only airlines that are members of an alliance that fly from Australia - South America.

Cons:

• Internal travel in South East Asia isn't possible except for stopovers in Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong. Some limited routes with Cathay Pacific through Thailand to Singapore do exist as well as from Hong Kong into Vietnam.
• Limited options for travel to Canada, particularly internal flights. 
• Limited internal flights in Africa, particularly medium haul flights.
