New Cathay Pacific Flights ex-Adelaide:

Cathay Pacific are launching non-stop services between Adelaide & Hong Kong. Commencing 24 November, the new three times weekly services will add on to the carrier's existing four times weekly flights between the two cities, upping its operations to daily. This is a win for the Adelaide RTW market as it will open up better connections to more destinations on the RTW networks. The new flight will depart earlier allowing Adelaide clients the opportunity to get to their destinations quicker and avoid the long lay overs or they can enjoy more time in Hong Kong on the way to Europe.

This week Cathay Pacific also announced the confirmation of their Premium Economy product due to be rolled out from the second quarter of 2012 on ultra long and medium haul routes, including Australia. This will be the 4th airline to introduce Premium economy to their flights from the One World network and will be other great option for round the world travellers.

New Singapore Airline Flights ex-Adelaide:

Singapore Airlines announcement of 3 additional weekly flights between Adelaide & Singapore is another bonus for Adelaide travellers. This will mean Singapore Airlines will have 3 twice daily services and 4 daily services. This will open up the Asian/Indian destinations from Singapore and have same day connections into some European destinations, thus reducing overnight stops in Singapore and creating better fluidity on Round the world itineraries travelling via Singapore. Singapore airlines has also announced that advanced seat selection of Economy Class seats in now available through RoundAbout Travel and all other booking channels, exit row, bulkhead/bassinet and seats reserved for passengers with reduced mobility will not be available for specific seat selection.

Qantas Restructure:

Qantas is in the process of restructuring their positing in the market in turn they are revising their current timetables and making a few changes. These changes have been the cancellation of flights Sydney to San Francisco, which has been replaced with flights Sydney/Brisbane to Dallas Fort Worth, the most recent is the announcement to cancel Qantas flights Sydney to Buenos Aires [last flight due to depart Sydney 24th March 2012] and replace with Sydney to Santiago.

In line with the restructure Qantas has begun the upgrade of their Boeing 747 fleet, the $250M upgrade will see the revamp of 9 747-400 aircraft fitted with 364 A380-style seats, in-flight entertainment and a self-service snack bar in economy class. Chief executive for Qantas, Alan Joyce says "The new interiors will vastly improve the flying experience for tens of thousands of Qantas passengers every year,". Round the world clients departing from Brisbane will benefit from the newly refitted aircrafts first as the first of the 9 aircrafts is due to resume its services between Brisbane to LA from October, the remaining refitted 747-400's will be introduced across the Qantas network throughout 2012.
