Lufthansa Business Class Lounge Review – Munich Airport Schengen Area

We checked in to the Lufthansa Business Class lounge in Munich airport before boarding our flight to Vienna, a part of our Lufthansa business class round the world airfare. As we were flying on to another European country within the Schengen region we had access to the  Lufthansa Schengen Business Lounge.

The Schengen lounge is located in terminal 2 opposite departure gate 28. The entrance is shared by both the business class lounge and the Senator Lounge.

After the welcome desk you are directed to a staircase which takes you to the business class lounge upstairs. The staircase opens up to a large and airy space. With windows on one side overlooking the tarmac and on the other side overlooking the atrium entrance to the terminal, there is plenty of natural light.

The lounge is long with a selection of lounges, benches and dining style tables, followed by a buffet with food and an array of drinks. Around the buffet area is plenty of casual bar style seating.

We were in the lounge before a 9am flight, while breakfast was served, consisting of a range of fresh fruit and cereals, along with scrambled eggs, and European style breakfast good such as cold meats, cheese and bread.

There is no staffed bar or barista in this Lufthansa lounge, however the buffet has a large supply of non-alcohlic and alcoholic beverages (including supplies to make a morning Bloody Mary) as well as multiple coffee machines around the lounge. Snacks are also available for those not wanting a full meal.

The Lufthansa Lounge, Schengen Lounge in Munich airport may not have the bells and whistles  such as formal dining of other lounges, however it is a casual and comfortable space to spend time before a short haul flight. The lounge is spacious and airy with plenty of seating options, food and drinks.
